WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 2, 2012) -- Professors and leaders at Seminole State College's Nursing Program are preparing future heroes to provide critical care in the health care field. In recognition of these educators who teach these vital skills, the Nursing Program was honored March 29 as a Holler Driver's Mart Hero.
Innovation is key to education at SSC. Indeed, its Nursing Program received the 2011 Florida Chancellor's Best Practice Award for its use of patient simulation and advanced lab techniques to train nurses. These simulation tools not only better prepares future nurses to pass the state licensing exam, but to properly and efficiently treat patients in health care facilities. Representing the program during Orlando Predators College Night were instructors Carlos Ovalle (from left, above), Laura Aromando and Maureen Tremel, and president of the Student Nurse Association, Cathy Centurion (in pink shirt).
